Privacy
Privacy notice for the information Chef Prep uses to provide and protect the service.
The version and digest below identify the disclosures presented for this policy release.
Who controls the information
Chef Prep is operated by Robert Teed, an unregistered sole proprietor operating Chef Prep, at 16589 Valley View Road, Truckee, California 96161. Privacy questions and verified rights requests may be sent to support@getchefprep.com.
Information collected and purposes
Chef Prep receives verified account identity and email information from Clerk and stores the household preferences, household size, dietary needs, ingredient exclusions, cooking preferences, plan requests, generated recipes, approvals, grocery-list records, support communications, billing identifiers, and operational and security records needed to provide, secure, support, troubleshoot, and improve the saved planning experience.
Chef Prep processes this information to authenticate customers, generate and save requested plans, enforce account isolation and the one-free-plan limit, provide exports and deletion, operate subscriptions, answer support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, protect food safety, comply with law, and establish or defend legal claims. Where applicable, processing is based on providing the requested service, consent for information a customer chooses to submit, Chef Prep's legitimate operational and security interests, and legal obligations.
AI generation
To compose a requested week, Chef Prep sends OpenAI a structured request containing the household size, selected meal slots, dietary needs, ingredient exclusions, cooking preferences, week-specific notes, a vetted food vocabulary, and bounded summaries of that household's recent private meals. Chef Prep does not send another household's recipes or use a shared recipe catalog as generation input.
Chef Prep requests non-persistent OpenAI responses, stores the validated private results and bounded provider audit identifiers in its own account-scoped records, and does not expose raw provider errors to customers. OpenAI may still handle security, abuse-prevention, and service logs under its applicable terms and retention controls.
Payments and support
Stripe receives and processes Checkout, payment, subscription, tax, and billing-portal information under Stripe's terms. Chef Prep stores the resulting customer, subscription, invoice, and event identifiers needed to reconcile access; Chef Prep does not collect card details directly.
Messages sent to support@getchefprep.com may include the sender's contact information and the account, billing, privacy, safety, or product details they choose to provide. Cloudflare Email Routing and Google Gmail temporarily route and host these support communications.
Service providers and transfers
Chef Prep uses Cloudflare Workers and D1 for hosting, database, network, and security services; Clerk for authentication and email verification codes; OpenAI for non-persistent AI generation; Stripe for Checkout, billing, tax calculation, and the customer portal; and Cloudflare Email Routing with Google Gmail for temporary support forwarding and handling.
Chef Prep does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. Service providers receive information only for the operating purposes described here, legal compliance, security, or at the customer's direction. They may process information in the United States and other locations under their applicable contractual, privacy, security, and transfer terms.
Account controls, retention, and deletion
The signed-in account area includes controls to export account data and request account deletion. Account and plan information is retained while the account is active and is removed from the active customer account through the deletion flow after active subscriptions, unresolved provider actions, and safety or legal blockers are resolved.
After account deletion, the active customer database retains only a one-way fingerprint of each normalized sign-in provider identity so that identity cannot silently recreate the deleted account. The suppression fingerprint excludes the email address, raw sign-in subject, profile fields, and internal account ID. It is created during deletion and therefore is not included in the pre-deletion account export.
The one-way suppression fingerprint is retained indefinitely. Provider backups may retain deleted information for their bounded recovery periods. Chef Prep and its providers may retain payment, tax, support, security, fraud-prevention, incident, and legal records for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, to resolve disputes, or to comply with law. Information subject to a legal, safety, fraud, or security hold is retained until the hold is resolved.
Privacy rights and appeals
Depending on applicable United States state law, a customer may have rights to know, access, export, correct, or delete personal information and to appeal a denied request. Customers may use the signed-in export and deletion controls or contact support@getchefprep.com. Chef Prep verifies requests through the normal Clerk-authenticated account path and may request information reasonably necessary to verify an authorized agent.
An appeal may be sent to support@getchefprep.com with a reference to the original request. Chef Prep will respond within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against a customer for exercising a privacy right. Because Chef Prep does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out to exercise for this service.
Age, territory, security, and delivery
- The service is limited to the United States and is not directed to anyone under 18. Chef Prep does not knowingly create accounts for children.
- Automatic weekly email delivery remains disabled; plans are generated only through the product's customer-requested flow.
- Chef Prep uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes and contact
A material privacy change will be identified by a new version and effective date and communicated through the service at least 30 days before it applies when the change materially affects the service or customer choices. Additional consent will be requested when required by law. A change reasonably necessary for security, safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance may take effect sooner. Privacy and security questions may be sent to support@getchefprep.com.
